    thems the ones, i was told i need a -12 offset to fit 285/70 on 17s (285/75 on 16s) to clear the control arms for wheeling

    That's how mine are setup with 285/75. I have no rubbing issues and clear upper control arm with no problem

    I think both wheels are 16x7.5 with 4.5 backspacing. So same offset. I think.

    magnaflow - k&n - fact alum wheels - back up mirror - intermit wipers - JVC 800 w/focal 165's - oem fogs - 5100's fr & rear.
    IMO, these wheels look much better on the Tacoma than the FJ.
    Nice lookin truck.

    For those who went with the FJ Steelies, what did you do for the TPMS? Are you just living with the alert on the dash? I'm looking to get a set of the steelies with some Good Year Duratracs

    X2, I have trail teams with 285/75 km2's and never really rubbed the control arms. At full lock my tires barely touched but it was nothing to cause a problem (unless you are fond of driving in right circles for extended periods of time)

    One benefit of some of the factory FJ wheels is folks selling them often have five of them.

    I'm really thinking of jumping ship to a 17" wheel from an FJ.

    I've seen a few pics in the thread on 1st gens. I just am so new I can't make heads or tails of what fits without a lift. any body know what I should look for in the trail teams or beadlocks?
