Why would you want to decrease in size when you have 3" inch lift? I thought most people would want to fill up the wheel well. The 285's look better with a 3" lift, 265's are too small IMO.

no i was just saying that i have a 3" lift not the tires..right now i have stock tires that are smaller than 265's. So im debating on 265 or 285

OOoooooh. Whoops. 285's and you'd have to do some trimming. If you don't want to trim anything then I hear 265's will fit fine.

I had my stock tires on for a month or so after the lift. After a while they make you want to go bigger. But if you decide to stay stock size tire, at least get an a more aggressive tire like a mud terrain or something similar.

I agree. Since I don't go wheeling, I plan to get Goodyear DuraTracs. They look the most aggressive in my eyes without going the mud terrain way.

Saw some xtreme all terrains at 4wheelcustoms. Shipping is $40 if you buy tires only. If you buy wheels there you get free mounting and balancing, of course shipping goes up as well. http://www.4wheelcustoms.com/Products.asp?Cat=2

I was told by a fellow member to get 16x8's wheels (rims) in order for it not to rub. 265/75/16 wouldn't rub w/o a lift. I would have gone with the 16x8's but I want XD 796 Revolvers and they don't come in 16's

Do you have rubbing or clearance issues in the rear? Im looking to go 315/75-16s and I have a 3" lift in the rear...

$99 is for one pair (2 spacers); you may want to get two sets so that the back wheels sit at the same depth as the front wheels.... just a thought.

    hey all,

So I have a 2003 Tacoma TRD, I just had it lifted 2" with all new Bilstein 5100's around the board. Aiming, you guessed it, at the 285/ 75/16 tire size.... wondering will I get by using the stock 16" wheels ya think? I am not a fan of spacers. My good friend, who is an actual mechanic, won't talk to me if I use spacers. Maybe new wheels with some offset to them? I want to black out the wheels too, and powdercoating the originals is just about as expensive as a whole new set. All thoughts welcome, thank you in advance!
