15" wheels on an 02 TRD?

I'm sure someone on here is running 15" wheels, is there any clearance issues with brake calipers? I found a good deal on some 15" Eagle Alloys w/tires, truck currently has stock 16".

some 15" wheels you have to grind the brake caliper alittle...has like a ridge on it that contacts I have american racing ar-23's with no problems... I was fully ready to grind them when i bought the wheels cause I have done this to like 3 other tacomas...but they fit fine

Thanks Zilla. It'll be a sweet deal if I can pull it off.

Couldn't pull off that sweet deal, so now I'm looking at Pro Comp Rock crawler Series 87 15x8 wheels paired up with 33x9.5-15 BFG AT T/A KO's. I never realized how much cheaper the 15" tires are over the 16".

ha ha yeah funny part is more trucks come with 16's now than 15's... with newer trucks putting bigger brakes on all the time... if I could suggest one thing dont go with 9.5 KO's.....the way the sidewalls are on the new KO's they make the actual tread alittle narrower than the claimed size(buddy has 10.50 and they are actual 9.3) and stock toyota has 31x10.50 so you will end up with like military jeep looking tall skinny tires. Bfg lost a customer when they went with the KO and KM I have probably owned 5 sets of bfg AT's and wont buy another set...bought ko's sold them and bought my Trail mark APR's they are like 110 a piece for 285/70/16's or 33 x 12.50 x 15...I really suggest them to anyone looking for a good at I love them have them on 3 trucks right now (dodge 2500 4.5" lift, tacoma 6" lift,gf's dads stock taco)

I'd been thinking about that all day today. If I go with 15" wheels, which I'm going to (money saver in the long run), I can get any tire cheaper. I just want something bigger to go with lift, but not so big that I need spacers. I guess I should look at 32"s.

Alright, everyone, I'm getting desperate. I have been searching and searching and searching. I'm all grizzled, blood shot eyes, lack of sleep.
I want to order (from website) 15" cheap steel wheels with 32x11.5r15 tires. I want to get them together so they come mounted and balanced. Can anyone recommend the wheel I want. I don't want to have to get spacers or use a grinder to make them work. I think my head will explode soon if I don't find what I'm looking for!I'm begging for some links here. I've lost days over this. Please help.

they offer 15x8 (recomend) in either 4" backspacing or 4.75 the 4" ones would stick tires out alittle but not much since you have flares 4.75 ones sit tires in farther but chance tires rub on top A-arm they will usually let you buy one of each to check clearance unless you mount tires on them then there is no returns

good looking wheels had set on 97 tacoma no grinding... so as long as they didnt add material to your calipers you should be golden... they also carry tires

also offer this

http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...60335_-1_11287 you could fit 33's on 4" backspacing wheels i bet

summit racing will usually put them together and give centers and lugs if you pick out wheels and tires from them also....imagine that they(jegs, summit) arent just for drag cars

Thanks alot Zilla. I checked Summit, but never thought of Jegs. All the different options for backspacing, offset, etc...was overwhelming and a little frustrating. I am a lttle confused about offset, is that even part of this equation? Any how, +1 for you. Thanks again.

yeah offset is a strange thing easy way to think of it is this say wheels is 15x8 and it says offset -0 means it is perfectly center (4" backspacing) if it says offset -1 it would mean they have 3" backspacing 1" off centerline ...get it? lol I hate it...backspacing is easier by a long shot...like I said if it was me I'd just get 15x8 4" backspace and let them sit out

15x8's w/4" bs is what I had been looking at, but during my research, I had found more questions than answers and a bunch of horror stories about wheels not fitting, it all kinda put me in a panic.

yeah I know the deal I bought aluminum eagle 203's one time and they didnt fit I was like NOOOO lol but it is a ridge on caliper maybe 3" long and 1/4" high 5 mins with grinder on each side and they fit fine... I take and put like sidewalk chalk on the caliper... just dust the entire top...put wheel on with hand only no lugs...turn wheel take it off and see where chalk is missing

I'll remember that, just in case. Also, there is a Summit store in Ohio, not too far. I could always make the drive and test the wheels for fitment.

Yeah, I had to get 1/4" spacers for the front, but I could live with that. The Cragars were the cheapest at $38.95 each. The spacers were $6 each.
