Hi, Can anyone tell me the max tire size that I can fit on my 05 taco 16x7 rims? The book only shows 265/70/16 but some tire shops show 275/70/16 is the max. Which is correct? By the way I am installing a 3" lift after the TSB is done. Thanks:)

without the lift, 265/75/16 is as big as you can go. with the lift, i think you may be able to go with 285/75/16......someone with lift knowledge will chime in and tell you for sure the max size.

those tires will fit the truck after the lift, but don't think they will fit the rim, not 100% on that, but i think the offset is wrong and the rim is too narrow for a 285

Do you think the 275's would fit the stock rim or should I stick with the 265's on the stock 16x7 rim till I can afford new rims?:) Whats funny is the TRD edition tacos come with the 265's on the stock rim, I just did'nt know if running 275's on the stock rim was a strech, also the offset factor. Thanks

just my .02, but i think it would probably be better to stick with a 265(either 70 0r 75) instead of going with a 275. but thats just me. not too sure how a 275 would fit even??!!

one word of advise, if you plan on upgrading rims later, do it all at once so you don't spend a lot of money on tires and a couple months have "like new" tires that you loose money on..... i got new rims and wanted a lift, so got some used tires for 100 bucks to make due in the mean time... just a thought....
