People running 20" rims & tires on a 2nd gen taco

Looking for people running 20" rims & tires on a stock 4x4 2nd gen taco.
What tire size are you running?

The research I've done, everyone says look for a 0 offset & only 4-4.5 backspace, blah, blah, blah but that mostly applies to 16" & 17" rims.

I got a great deal on some Incubus Krawler rims
(20x9, 12 offset, 5.47 backspace)
These are going to be my summer set-up.
I've test fit the rim & caliper clearance is not an issue.

I'm looking at some Cooper Zeon LTZ tires. They don't come in the size I want but they do come in a 275/55r20.
According to the specs, the OD is 31.9" and the sectional width is 11.2"
I like these tires b/c I can get them for appr. $1000 installed (CND) and they seem to be the perfect mix between a sport & off-road tire and they've received excellent reviews.

Will I encounter some rubbing? Would it be minor like just the mudflap?

Right now I am running my winter combo: Cooper Discoverer STC tires in 265/70r17 on the trd sport rims. These tires are 31.6" OD & 11.03" sectional width and I'm not experiencing any rubbing. I have about a finger gap between this tire and I think the stock UCA.

If these TRD Sport Alloy Wheels spec are correct:
17x7.5, +30 mm offset, 5.5" backspacing
theoretically I should be okay or only experience the mild mudflap rub with my intended summer set-up.

I would say these wont fit without anything less than a 2.5" lift or doing some cutting. I did a test fit of 285/50/r20's before I put the 1.75 lift in and was very tight. The wheels you are talking about are larger than mine so I just don't think it will work without the lift. The wheels I stated above fit with the 1.75 lift but its not by much.

Was it the height or the width that made it tight?

I currently have 265/70r17 on the truck right now with no issues.
This tire's OD is 31.6" & the 285/50r20 is typically OD 31.2"
The sectional width on a 285/50r20 is typically OD 11.2"
whereas the 275/55r20 I'm looking is narrower.

Is anyone running a 275/55r20 on stock suspension?
I think I've seen some running a 275/50r20 without issues.

From what I have seen, its all about offset. When I fit tested the 285/50/20's before the lift they would hit the bottom of the bumper body work, the little black nubs that protrude down from the bumper and they would hit the mud flaps when turning the wheels. My rims are 20x9 with a 0 offset.

Different offsets may allow your setup to work. I cant speak to that.

Did you buy your 20" tires? I'd be interested in the size you ended up with if you didn't mind.

I'm thinking of going with 285/45-20 Michelin LTX's.

I ended up buying some Cooper Zeon LTZ tires in a 275/55r20.
I quickly test fit them and the only issue is a tiny rub on the mudflap at almost full turn crank.
These are going to be my summer set-up so I'll deal with the rubbing in the spring.

I have Cooper Zeon LTZ 275/45r20's on my truck. I have minor rubbing when I'm backing out of a parking space. I'm getting ready to install a 2.5" lift and remove the mud flaps and do some trimming. I thought I could deal with 'minor' rubbing but it drives me nuts having to hear that sound everytime I back up.
