Tires and Wheels with out Rubbing or Spacers

I was looking at American Racing Bajas 15x8 with a 5.25 backspacing. I want to eventually get 285 BFG's (33). I have a 2000 Tacoma Prerunner and I was hoping to not have any rubbing even at full turn. Do you think this will work?

 

I think you're gonna need less backspacing. The stock wheels on my 02 trd are 16x7 and I think they don't have that much backspacing. Some 15" wheels will not clear the brake caliper. I think 4" of backspacing would be a better choice if you do not want spacers. Check these out. They are made to fit Toyotas specifically.

 

How do you like your coil spacers? I was thinking about getting something like that to preserve my ride and comfort, but I heard they compress over time. Any pros to getting those vs. the front shock spacer

If when you say shock spacer, you mean the spacers that mount above the strut and install without a coil spring compressor, then I have heard of them causing problems over time, but I don't have any specifics to back that up.

 

Oh nevermind I was thinking those were the lengthened coil lift that doesnt use a spacer at the top. That is exactly what I want to get. Toytec seems like a good brand and you get all that you need in one kit. Nice looking rig.

 

Thanks. Toytec is a popular one here. It is very economical and you can install it yourself with basic tools and mechanical knowledge of the suspension. There's something appealing about a company that designs only stuff for Toyotas, too.
