So my parents have said they will help me out with getting new tires for xmas (my 265s look like skateboard wheels on my truck) and I cant seem to find the duratracs in the 285/75/16 in any other load range than E. I know thats way overkill for our trucks. anyone seen a load range C?

I'd get em in a D if I had a 1st gen. I think maybe the reason my Nittos didn't hold up is because they are D rated and not E...not sure though

Doesn't look like that size comes in anything but E rated. 265 and 245 in a 16" rim is there only C rated option...
unless you go to a 15" rim 33x12.5x15.

    Or a 17in rim - you can get 285x70r17 in a D range.

I am having the same dilema. I think I'll just pull the trigger on the 16's and deal with the E rating.
