I've been asking questions around here for the last couple weeks trying to figure out what size wheels and tires I wanted to go with on my 95 Tacoma.
I ended up going with the 17x7.5 TRD sport wheels and Goodyear Silent Armor 255/75/17. I thought I would need spacers, but they just fit. I've only put about 50 miles on them so far, but they are more quiet than the Firestone Destination AT's they replaced. They are a bit bigger than I expected, but for some reason that size of Silent Armors are about $50 per tire cheaper than the size I wanted (255/70/17). The tire size calculator said that this size would be 1.08 inches taller than the stock 31x10.5x15 tires they replaced, but they were quite a bit bigger. I stood the two wheels and tires side by side when I was swapping them and the new ones were actually about 2.25 inches taller than the old ones. The Firestones had about 36000 miles on them, but still had about 7/32 tread left, so I;m not sure why the tire calculator was so far off.
I get just a little bit of rubbing on the front tires when you have the steering wheel turned all the way, but I've not crawled up under they to see exactly where it's hitting and if I can trim a little to give it clearance.
Anyway, I think they look a little bit too big for the truck, but I'm hoping I get used to them.
I'll try to figure out how to post the pics I took a few minutes ago and you can let me know what you all think? The trucks a little dirty, but you can get the idea..
