Is there any advantage to taller tire over stock?

I will end up lifting the truck about 2 inches with a Toytec lift.

So to fill the gap in the wheel wells, I'm going to put in a taller tire.

But besides the aesthetic factor, and filling the gap, is there any advantage to a taller tire?

I know that there are disadvantages such as poor conrnering and tire flex that only a short tire can give.

My mileage is the same as stock once I account for the difference in diameter.

Remember, the odometer will be off with larger larger tires so you can't rely on that for mileage calculations without compensating for the tires.

For example, my 285/75 16's affect the speedometer by 7%. So I have to add 7% to my mileage readings from the odometer. My scangauge is recalibrated to account for the 7% difference so it's right on.
