    Howdy Y'all!

Newbie 1st time poster here. I've got a new 2009 Tacoma Double Cab SR5 4X4 non-TRD Black Sand Pearl truck that's bone stock right now.

I'm hoping to buy some new tires and wheels within the next couple of weeks account the Dunlop Grand Treks are underwhelming.

Based on what I've read here and in other forums I've decided on the 265/75/R16 tire/wheel combo account it will be sometime if I will ever install a lift.

What are the basic fundamental differences between the 265/75/R16 and 265/70/R17 tire/wheel sizes?

If it's only a matter of appearance and personal preference I like the 265/75/R16's but I wanted to get input from the group.

    Thanks in advance!

Exact same size tire, just an inch difference in the rim size.

Myself, I'd rather have more tire than rim.

Like Krazie said they are the exact same width and diameter. It just depends what size wheels you want. I'm running 265/65/18's, which are also the same width and diameter, but for an 18" rim. As far as I'm aware, I'm the only one on here that runs this size though.
