question about tires and alignment

I am lifting my truck 1.6 in in the front this weekend. I will be driving about 100 miles back to my home town after the lift.

I have tires on there now that only have 10k miles on them. I will not be able to get an alignment till I get back to my home town. I know it would be better to get an alignment real quick with few miles.

What can I expect with the tire wear driving 100 miles? It is going to destroy the tires doing this?

 

Unless you really jack up your alignment while installing your lift which i don't think you will being that you aren't going that high, you'll be fine. Just take a look at your tires from the front after you install your lift and just make sure they aren't too far in or out. you should be fine, but of course sooner is always better.

 

you should be fine. I did the Bilstein 1.75" lift up front and drove around for a while before getting it aligned. Unless you look at your tires up front and they look something like this \ /
then def. get it aligned before heading out, but you should be fine.

 

I probably had about 100 miles on mine before I aligned it, granted it was in town driving. It certainly isn't recommended but it didn't hurt anything on mine nor was there any visible wear on the tires.
