I having my wheels looked at on Thursday by a Toyota rep because of a defect in them. Whether or not I get them replaced ( I will throw a stink if I don't, but anyways) I plan to paint them black. For those of you who have done this did you use a gloss or a satin finish? I am also not going to clear them just so I can touch them up easy.
On a sidebar I also want take the fender flares off and put some Herculiner or simular product on them for durability. Has anyone done this and how did it turn out?

It's waranty right? Are they going to extend your waranty on the wheels so the bubbles don't come back????? You could have them custom gloss/satin (like the FJ rims but in black) if toyota's footin' that bill

Just out of curiosity why wouldn't you just get the wheels powdercoated? It's way less work and more durable than paint.
