Other than army vehicles, has anyone seen any army green wheels, semi-gloss or matte? I'm seriously considering painting my wheels this color (see http://www.armyjeepparts.com, and click on "GCI paint" button, color 24087 at the bottom of the page), but wanted to see if anyone's tried it before.

My taco's red, so I think it would look good...and the color is dark enough, it won't be too far from black (if I used a dark primer underneath)...but wouldn't be black like everyone else's.

    All pics appreciated!

I'd be careful if I were you, Olive drab is like a cancer and gets into your veins and the next thing you know you're painting white letters and a big star on the hood....I owned a 43 Jeep and the fever almost spread onto my trailer I towed it with...I did the wheel and fender of the trailer and realized I'd went too far.

well looking at the color on the website it looks more brown to me... I don't know.... I mean if you want it to look black but "technically" not be black I would go with a dark grey
OR... if you want to be really different... (see pic)

Hahaha...just the wheels...I like the red body.

I thought about gunmetal grey, but I've seen it too much.

I think it would be a good contrast to the red; maybe not. I'm going to sleep on this one.

    Thanks for the input everyone.:)

Lol I love my OD green!

Same IMHO. I need to get pics up but I did my emblem, side badges, and hood scoop in OD green. Looks great on black and I did the Ultra Flat camo Spray. Also did up the interior black and OD green

Make sure you do the Ultra Flat Camo Krylon. Walmart has it (obviously) works great

I think that the GCI 24087 might be darker (my preference)...I'll definitely go by WM to compare before I drop coin though.

I chicken'd out...saw a beamer online w/the army green wheels...not what I thought they'd look like. I'll probably just spray a new coat of silver on mine and call it good. I'd like black wheels, but they're starting to get played out imo.

    Useless thread.

Ah it's not a useless thread man.
Better that you decided that they wouldn't look good now then after you did them.
I've been thinking about putting on some wheel stripes like they use on motorcycles just to dress up my stockers till I decide what to replace them with. You could do something like that. Don't your year wheels have the toyota logo in the center? You could paint the logo red or black.

But yeah, black is a little played out IMO too.

I sure you will come up with something cool.

I'm thinking of getting my wheels powder coated to match the Timberland Mica. A little dark than OD.

    Thanks man.:)

That's actually not bad at all, imo. Thanks! I'm re-interested in this idea now...I'll update this thread if I go through with it. BTW, how did you do that...I want to check out some more colors and I think that's a good way to do it.

there is some guy with a x-runner with white polks (I think) on it somewhere on here or maybe on the x-runner forum (can't remember the name...) you might want to search around and check out.
