I've got a 2009 Tacoma base model extended cab. 4x2. I'm wanting to get some different wheels and tires. Would going to a 16" tire and wheel cause it to ride much rougher? Planning on a 235x60x16. Also any recommendations for wheels on this little truck would be appreciated. I think I like chrome over black but not sure. Don't want too much bling I guess it's because I'm 64 but trying not to forget my earlier days. Thank You.

have you considered a lift? The readylifts are nice, and very inexpensive. At that point you could go with 245/75/16 ...

heres a pic of a truck of mine. 4x2 base, readylift, 245/75/16. and its got that chrome (machined aluminum) and black look you speak of.

Your truck looks really good. I'm needing to stay low because I have very bad knees and am unable to get into higher trucks.
