Saw you picture as I was looking at pics of the Kumho tires and then noticed you rims, if you don't mind me asking what kind of RIMS are those on your truck.

Santa came early, and brought my Kumho's today. Got them babies installed, and drove around a bit, and fell in love right away. I felt glued to the road, and it was windy as hell today.

I'm looking forward to seeing how they do over Christmas when I drive up to the Great White North.

Well, we finally got some snow and even though it was only a few inches, I must say I am very impressed with this tire. Last winter I had to use 4-wheel drive in these conditions with the Dunflops. Not so today. So far these tires do everything well. Obviously, I can't judge tire wear for a few years, but for now, I am extremely happy with my decision to buy these tires.

These tires did great in the snow yesterday! I drove from NM to MN yesterday, and from halfway through IA to Minneapolis there was every kind of snowy condition...from the fat sticky snow, to the tiny slick snow, to 30 mph crosswinds, to black ice. Also, I haven't driven in snow in about 10 years. Aaannd, I've actually never driven a truck in the snow. Aaaannnnnd, my truck's a two wheel drive. Basically, all the chips were stacked in favor of me winding up in the ditch with the dozens of other cars.

Anyway, other than a couple of small slips, it was a perfect ride. My girl was out performing some of the big 4x4's out there! I couldn't have asked for better performance from tires. Great on all sorts of snowy roads!

Glad to hear everyone is so pleased with the Kumho's. I am going to tire rack ASAP to pick them up.
I picked up some Tundra 17x7.5 wheels off Craigslist. I tried them with the tires on them to see how they fit. No problems whatsoever. I took some measurements and the extra .5" is evenly split between the inside and the outside so there is about .25" more backspacing. I may get some spacers just to improve the looks.

Still happy with the Kumhos? How does the "look" of them fit your truck? The KL61's get good reviews so I'm leaning that direction...

I am in the midst of a great tire debate with myself - I want my truck to look good but I also need it to ride well and not burn gas like it only costs 50 cents a gallon. :annoyed:

So far I'm very happy with these tires and I haven't noticed a difference in fuel economy either. I was actually expecting a drop in mpg going from a highway tire to an all terrain. In my opinion they look great on the Tacoma as well. I think you will be happy with them.

I think these tires look great. I noticed a slight drop in mpg, but that's most likely because I got these a size larger than my stock tires.

Thanks for the feedback! I am liking the idea more and more - so much in fact that I think I may visit the truck shop today! I may lose a little in mpg by going to a larger tire but they will still be lighter and mUch less expensive than the other tires I was considering.

Tried to buy them today-they are on BO from tire rack. Too bad-I am excited about getting my new wheels on.

After 6 months of owning these tires I'm still very happy with them. They are quiet on the highway, great in the snow, and after about 5000 miles they still look new. I've noticed a total drop of less than 1 mpg over the stock Dunlop Grantreks the truck came with. The only downside to these tires was the fact that they took about 500 miles to break in. Since then, they've lived up to the reviews and my expectations.

Got the tires on today. Could not take pictures with the new Tundra wheels due to the nasty weather. Even though they put 36psi in they seemed to ride fine. I use 26/29. What pressure do most people use with stock tires? Only drove about 10 miles so far.

Get some more updates from the owners on the wear and if you would recommend buying them.

As of now I have about 9000 miles on them and they still look close to new. This is the best all terrain tire I have ever had on any truck. It's quiet, handles great in the dry and the rain, stays balanced, and is downright incredible in the snow. All without affecting the fuel economy (I'm still averaging about 21 mpg.) Like I said before, you have to let them break in for about 500 miles and then I think you will be impressed.

I ended up buying some of these and got them installed today. What psi are you running in them? The shop that put them on put 35psi all the way around, seemed a little low to me.
