Which do you prefer, recommend, advise. Besides having to use different style lugnuts, would there be any problems with or without.

I recommend getting hub centric on a 2nd gen. If possible. That's what your stock wheels are. It's not necessary though, but lug centric wheels can cause vibrations if not installed correctly.

Depends on the rim really. If you can find a hubcentric that fits, it's probably better. However, most hubcentric rims won't fit as Toyota's hub is larger than most of them. Research them before you buy.
