General vs Duratrac on 7089's

So I got my new procomp 7089's 16x8 and am getting tires for it monday. I have a 09 DC SR5 4x4 with toytec ULK. I would like to go between these two brands due to all the positive things I have heard as well as the price. I am going to get discount to match 4wheelparts price. Prices are as follows.

General AT2 ----- lt285-75-16 -- 191

General AT2 ----- lt265-75-16 -- 181

Duratrac ---- 265-75-16 -- 159

Duratrac ---- 285-75-16 -- 189

I would really like to get the 285's if I can fit them with out rubbing on my stock UCA's. The truck has 265-75-16 super swampers on it now and it is very close, but I think the 7089s have more backspace.

From what I understand the Duratracs will get about 40k, and the Generals upwards to 60k, is that correct?

 

I just ordered the general grabbers (ones w/ the red letters from 4wheel parts) 285/75/16 220per tire.. As i understood before making my purchase as long as the 7089's have a negative offset and 4.5 backspace you shouldn't have a problem with rubbing issues with 285s..as for the the Generals I also heard great things about their tires and that they are pretty quiet on the road. IMO the generals look sick.

 

I have the 7089's and 285's with no issues rubbing the OEM UCA.

 

As long as you have 4.5-5.0" backspace the 285's (11.2" wide) should be fine. I fit 12.50's with a 4.5" BS wheel just fine. My advice on tires... If you go offroad quite often, then duratracs, if its mostly pavement and not much muddy offroad then get the AT2's
