Hi folks...

My two cents on tires/rims for the 2nd gen Taco. I highly recommend tirerack.com if you are considering an upgrade. You can select your vehicle and see how the different rims will look on your ride. I bought some cool alloy rims to replace the stock "styled steel" and some Pirelli 235/55/R17's for around $800 including balancing and shipping. I had to install them myself but it was a quick and easy job, just remember to torque the lug nuts to factory settings (around 85 ft/lb). My little truck now handles like a sports car.

You'll proabably need 2-3 inches of lift for those tires. There are many different options for lifting your rig, Toytec makes a budget spacer lift with AAL's (Add A Leaf) and if you want to spend the money you could get some Hoe's (Donahoe) for the front and some OME leafs for the rear.

I have 33's on mine and it took a 4" skyjacker liftkit to clear them and i had to remove the front tire mud flaps, also i had to trim a small section of the inner front wheel splash guards on both sides....easy adjustments to accommodate the 33" tires... they are massive!!!!!

on an 03 3 inches will work but 4-5 would be the best. 33's with 3 inches make your wheel well's look to flilled up

A 3 inch lift will require cutting to accomadate 33's, 4 to 5 inches of lift look a whole lot better, and if u want 35's u will need 6 inch lift and a lot of cutting to get rid of tire rub. Also if u go with anything bigger than a 33" tire u will want to buy a Steering Stabilizer. They sell them at the offroad shop i go to for 275 icludnig installation. Hope this helped

ive got 33s on my 02 xcab

its lifted prob in the 2.5 inch range...i dont know the exact amount because its done via adjustable coils and a 3leaf aal added to some flattened springs...

i have some rubbing but its minor and really just on a couple corners that i wouldnt mind trimming up

a friend of mine has an 03 or 04 dcab thats lifted right at 4 inches and he's running 35s but that took a LOT of cutting

a big difference maker in whether or not youll rub is the tire you get

**EDIT** im a retard and just saw the original post date
