Hey guys I just lifted my truck with the 5100 bilstiens set at 2.5" and 2" AAL. I put Moto Metal rims wrapped with 285/70/17 Firestone Destinations A/T. I LOVE how it looks but I have a few questions. I ran stock tires with the lift for over a week with no vibrations. Well after the tires and alignment Im getting a steering wheel vibration around 45-55mph. I know its not an alignment issue and I know its a most likely a balance issue. Well the guys that did it said the tires are balanced and its something I have to deal with having 33" tires and a lifted truck. Also the camber looks a tiny bit on the positive side. I know caster is a problem with lifting the Tacomas but I thought the camber should be able to be in specs.

What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!!

I would take it somewhere else and get them to balance them as well.

Does the camber look alittle off?

Having the same issue here with a lift on 35'' tires... I was about to go do an alignment myself but was waiting on new tires first.

Trd offroad springs are progressive i know of a few people who have had problems with them when doing 5100s try getting a hold of some regular sr5 springs thats what ive got with the 5100s at 2.5 and it aligned perfect, i think it might give a little less lift because of the softer springs.. good luck!

I had the same issue... I have the bilstiens adjustable and 2'' add a leaf, Method wheels and BFG All terrains... Ever since i took it out of the shop it has shaken at 45-50mph and 78-80mph... I had the tires balanced and aligned by at least 4 different places and could never get it right...

I recently gave up and put the stock tires and wheels back on and it rides perfect...... Ive heard so many excuses by the tire shops and dealers "its because of the lift" "rack and pinion steering" "defected tire" "hub centric wheels"....

Its frustrating and ive never got the right answer. Now im nervous about getting any after market wheels.

    Heres an update...

It was driving me crazy so i got all new BFG ATs on the methods and it still shook. That told me that i did not have a faulty tire... the guys at discount told me i had rim that was out of round... I ordered a new wheel from method, had it installed and the shake is now gone...

It turns out i was sold a defective wheel from desert rat.

Your experience with aftermarket wheels has been much the same as mine to the point that I've had a couple of different sets checked for runout before mounting tires on them.

When I did the lift on my Tacoma I decided to go with the factory wheels. I picked up a used set of stockers in near perfect condition for $100 and shot them with a couple of cans of paint. I too hate dealing with tires shops and dealing with the excuses.

Glad you got the issue resolved.
