I recently bought an 02 Tacoma XtraCab 4X4. The tires are shot and I am about to get some new General Grabber HTSs. This truck has 245/75R16 tires, but everything I have read, and the tag on the door frame, says the optional tires are 265/70R16. Right now I plan on staying with the more narrow tire for gas mileage and because they are cheaper, but is there any reason why the 245/75 size tire was not standard on any Tacomas before 2005? My rims are 16X7 Toyota alloy wheels, but I don't know if they came on the truck or if someone added them later.
