Wondering what the biggest tire size that will fit in the storage place under the bed. I have a 275/70/17 and need to know if that size wheel will fit in the spare mounting location. Has anyone else fit bigger wheels under the bed?

    Thx

I plan to mount the tire on a MotoMetal rim up under there, do you think this would damage the rim up under there? Hate to spend 200 on a chrome rim to see it damaged under there.

    Thx

the tire should hit the supports under the bed before the rim would, but you'd still be susceptible to stuff coming up from the road or from offroading.

A 285-70-17? I would be interested to see what you had to cut if you could snap a pic. I wonder if certain tires would fit better than others. Like an A/T vs a M/T?

running a tire carrier now and was previously running 315s, so they were definitely not going to fit. no issues w/ heat. same locks/deterrents can be used w/ the 285 that can be used w/ a stock spare, ie cables w/ locks.
