New Sneakers Maxxis Production?

Went for new Rubber at Les Scwab wanted 275x65xR18 Maxxis Buckshots, but they told me they were back ordered 6 months. WTF! Then they offered me the Bighorn's and I said OK, but only in the 10 ply version. They replied that they could only get the 8 ply. Finally they agreed to look again and only after I was going to walk and go somewhere else did they all of a sudden come up with the 10 ply which they claimed to have found in California.

Is Maxxis having a hard time keeping up with demand or was this some ploy by the dealer to soak me for the shipping costs?

Out the door ~$1,400+ seems a little much to me.

 

Yeah, a mate of mine talked me into the wheel which really limits my options. Thats about the biggest size of tire a dare go without rub and resulting trim.

Seriously considered going back to a 16" wheel.

supply is not always there, not sure how many shipments they do a year, could be just once a year, maybe twice like Hankook. Maxxis being smaller co. i'd imagine only once a year...

 

I'd ditch those 18's asap. They're going to cost you so much money in the long run.

And for a shittier ride too.
