Honest Opinions on GoodYear Silent Armors

First off....I have read alot of the threads on these, but cannot get a good idea one way or the other.

Leaning toward getting these in 265/70/17 for my DCLB 4x4.
Anyone currently running these? Any vibe issues? How's the snow traction? Wear?

I had a set 245/75/R16s on my 06 Tacoma that got close to 50k on them when I traded them in.
I did run them one winter but swapped them out for dedicated studded snows tires after hitting black ice & banging up the front of my truck.
It probably was a freak thing & no tire would have helped but I tow a lot in winter was the main reason for the swap.
Dry road and wet road traction was very good. Quiet on the highway. No vibes or balancing issues for the life of ownership.
I hit a sidewall once on a jagged rock that tore up the valance & rim pretty good but did nothing to the tire & never had any flats/punctures etc. I liked the tires very much.

Now...fast forward to the Tundra. I just put a set of 275/65/R18s on. I do have a small vibe@ 65-70. One tire is messed up & I am fighting with the shop as we speak.
I think its a combination of being a heavy tire, on a heavy truck, being a girl & a jerk of a store mgr. Its not the brand & happy with my decision.
The $180 rebate is great & I also put in for the Tread Lightly one. We'll see how it turns out.
I am undecided about running them in the winter though....again due to towing.

I had a set on my old 4Runner, and like them a lot other than them not looking very aggresive. I thought they worked better than my BFG's I had on it before when it came winter time as well. I didn't get a chance to try them off road, but the guy I sold my 4Runner to said they did okay off road.

 

I ran some briefly 2 years ago and had some issues which may or may not affect your situation. First and foremost they did not do well towing. Simply not a heavy enough tire to hold up to the job and under heavy loads seemed to loose traction on packed snow especially on dirt roads. Also did not do well in deep light powdery snow situations. I have had better luck with afhe BFG AT's but I do quite a bit of towing which you may not do.

Appreciate the info. I really won't be doing any hauling or pulling with the taco, so not a concern. The thing that has me a little worried is the numerous complaints of vibrations at 55+mph. Anyone have issues with this?
