    i just recently bought the 2012 baja tacoma. comes with 3in lift. current tire size, 265.70.16 new tires size 285.75.16 will they fit???

    And without any trimming or anything they're going to rub somewhere.

    yea im sorry 2in lift. and how much rubbing? i dont rock crawl by anymeans...but i do like to mud alot and some hill climb...will it affect it that much?

    you will rub with that tire size when turning and flexing. 285 is a 33" tire which is pretty big. You will need to trim the front bumper area, chop the cab mounts, and possibly cut the pinch weld.

    If you dont mind minor rubbing and keep it on the pavement and drive mostly straight, 285s wont be a problem.

    and I'm surprised the Baja only comes with 265/70/16. That's what the regular V6 packages come with I believe.

    look for a mudder in a 265/75/16. You'll get the MT and a little larger size and you wont need to worry about trimming :)

    You could go with a 275/70 16. That is what size tire I was thinking about looking at for my tacoma. (Right now I have a 265/75/16.) I was going to get the Ironman lift which is a 2inch lift as well.

    Why don't you just trim like everyone else if you want a 33" tire? I can never understand the obsession with keeping things stick on a forum that is 95% dedicated to modding your truck. If done correctly trimming is nit obvious and has no downsides.

    He has 2" of lift, he was mistaken in his OP.

    I have 1.75" and I had to trim to fit 275/65/18's, which are an inch shorter and half inch skinnier.

    Ya I'm wondering IF he went to 2.5 from 2, instead of the 3" he talked about, would he still be able to fit the 285/70/17's? I'm wondering because I know its been covered a lot, but not a lot of exact answers on certain setups
