16" taco spare steel wheel tech/info

I have a few questions regarding the factory 16" spare steel wheels found on the 05+ tacoma's. I've done a good bit of searching but haven't found any solid answers to my questions.

1. What is the true backspacing of these wheels? I have heard anywhere from 4.5" - 5.5".

2. There is rumor that I can not reuse the tpms from my 16" alloy wheels. Is this true? If so, why won't they work? (Either way it does not concern me too much. I have an 06 and can easily disable the monitor unlike the newer models. But it would be nice to know.)

3. I have also heard that there are two different styles of spare steel 16" wheels. One has all circle cut outs while the other has 1 or 2 oval cut outs. Is this also true? If so, is there a difference in the specs of the wheels concerning the above mentioned questions? Backspacing, tpms comparability ect. And was there a specific pattern as to which models or year the different styles came on?
