17'' wheel and tire 06 Prerunner issue

I recentely had some corrosion issues with the 17'' FJ Toyota factory wheels i've had on my 06 PreRunner. Naturally i replaced them and bought a set of 17''MB Chaos 6 wheels at Discount using my old tires with them. The problem is now my tires rub the inside on the front when i make sharp turns. They are 265 70 17'' size and never rubbed before with the factory wheels. They even look bigger now on my Tacoma and poke slightly more out of the wheel compartment. Just wondering do i need to buy new tires and downgrade in size. Would going to a 265 65 size tire help the problem? I need to replace tires soon anyway. Thanks

The MB Chaos 6 is available in 25 mm offset and -6 mm offset. 25 mm is closer to factory while -6 mm offset makes the wheel stick out more. The tire now rubs because it's pivoting on a larger scrub radius.

Are you rubbing on the fender flare or on the mudflap? If it's just on the mudflap, you can get Huskyliner mudflaps with greater clearance.

re-wheels and tires

No..I already removed the mudflaps years ago. Looks like Discount gave me the wrong offset. What now? They just put em on today.

I don't think the 25 mm offset version would work, because it's 8.5" wide (stock is 7.5") and might rub on the spindle or upper control arm.

Either start trimming the fenderwell plastic or get smaller tires. 265/65-17 is stock size for TRD Sport, so it should fit.

Ok.. thanks for the info i appreciate it. What would u do? if its indeed the wrong offset would u go back up to discount and talk to them or just go ahead and get the 265 65 17" tires.

Sorry ken.. i didn't read you're entire response before posting. Ill try smaller tires. I guess ill go with the 65s which is not a big deal to me at all if they fit correctly. Thanks again
