I only belong to 3 tacoma forums and in one there was a thread with lots of pics of guys running 265/75/16's and can't find it again.

Can we start one here or does anybody know what thread I'm talking about Willis?

I'm trying to decide if I want to run 265/75/16's or 285/75/16's on 2008 taco. I really want to run 285's though. buuuttttt......

My 16x8's have a 4.0" BS and I'm pretty sure I will rub the body mount pretty bad with 285's, so I'm thinking I will have to go with 265's which will give me a little more room. My front will be lifted 3" and the rear 1" Of course the lift is kind of mute because I need to get rid of rubbing under near full compression not just street driving.

What BS'ing do you have? Looks like it could be 4.0"?

I'm just thinking that 265's will look too narrow being pushed out with the 4" bs. would look much better with 4.5 but I dont really want to get different wheels. However the 33's would look nice with the 4.0" BS I have. Not too worried about the paint since the sides will be clear bra'd.

Dude my wheels are 16x8 w/4.03 BS. DC-1 blacks. I had slight rubbing with a 2.25" ready lift lev. up front. Rear was straight. I pretty much just took off the front mud flaps, and cut away some useless plastic. I am happy with the look and unless another person knew exactly what stock wheel wells should look like, nothing looks diff.

How much room do you have between the tire and body mount at full lock?

I looked up the specs on your tires and they are basically 31.5" dia and the tires I'm looking at are 32" on the nose, which makes a little diff but not too much.

    Do you offroad your truck?

Not sure, but bottoming out has never been an issue on road. But then again have not got a chance to offroad yet... my set up converted is actually 32.5x11.5x16. give or take.. its a great set up, cant wait to hit a trail or two.
