02 prerunner

i am trying to find out if 15" steel Daytona style wheel will fit a 02 tacoma prerunner. i have been told it would hit the brake caliber. has anyone ran into this? if so what size wheel did you use? a 31x10.50x15 tire is easy to find, not so easy ia 16" wheel. i would like to stay with a steel wheel.
