I bought my x runner feb 2011. It has the back up camera but the mirror has never shown an image. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if it's an easy fix?

I would first check that the connections are good and check that your getting voltage at each of these points. Start at the mirror and work your way back. Check fuses just to make sure.

Not being a troll...but I think there's a button you can press to turn it off on the mirror (I have a 2010 PR with the back up camera)...check that first.

You should be able to press and hold the button at the bottom center of the mirror to access a menu...there is an "always off" setting in there if you look around a bit...

Any chance the tailgate camera cable connector was unplugged to remove the tailgate and never reconnected ?

    I gotta ask...

You know it only shows up if you're in Reverse, right?

I was running with out a tailgate for a couple weeks and with it unplugged a blue screen would show up on the mirror when I placed the truck in reverse.
