    Hi everyone,

I currently an 08 Access 4 cyl. 5 spd. Base model in White. It is such a fleet truck.

But I've owned it for nearly a year. I am currently working on a 1972 MGB complete restoration project and thought that I would just use the truck to haul parts around and dispose of it once the MG was on the road.

Well I've fallen in love with this thing and am now thinking that I should have a nice one to use when the weather doesn't allow for the MG.

So I have found what I think is the last 2 new (2014) X-runners for sale (4 km on the odo) and they happen to be in my city. Does anybody other than me think that this may be a good "investment". I realize that cars don't really qualify as an investment but since I don't plan on driving it any more that about 5000 km (3000 mi) a year. I think it may just hold it's value for quite some time. I don't need a 4x4 version so this 4X2 is perfect for me.

So I'm asking for everyone's opinion. Should I pay a little more ($30000) for the uniqueness of this truck? Or should I get a regular Taco?:confused: One is Black and the other is 8T5 Dark Blue Ribbon. They both look great. Which Color? Sorry, I don't have picture of the black one.

    Flame or advise, your choice.

Cheers. Looking forward to making use of this forum.

Gary (in an undisclosed location hoping that no one else wants this truck)

If you do it, get the blue...and be the envy of everyone in the US. They didn't release it here.
I wish mine was that color!

Either way you can't go wrong.I love my X-Runner. I saw the new black one at the dealer and must admit I thought about it,but I almost got mine how I want it. I was surprised to see those 2 trucks here. When I went into the dealer with the black one to get some parts, they seemed to have never heard of a X-Runner before. Good Luck with your choice.

Go for it!!! The x runner is a nice truck. Personally, I would not pass up the chance to buy the blue one

Definitely go with the Blue Ribbon, it's really is a unique color. And I will say they hold there value, I have been tossing around the idea of selling mine and according to KBB my 16k on the clock puts me at 26.5 and if you include the certification I am at 30k. The limited production of these trucks will definitely ensure that the value will be retained. FYI, suggested retail for these trucks when they came out was around 25k most dealers charged 27k, try to get them down. Check out xr-underground.com, it's a better resource for anything X-runner.

If you do it, get the blue. Great looking color, and the 2012+ front end really looks great on an X-runner.

I think that's is mostly user error, have had two xrunners and have not had any issues with the transmission

My post count on XRU should some that one up and to follow that up, user error is still my stand point, it's how you use and abuse it that makes stuff fail. I by no means race but do have a few spirited drives here and there and nothing! Or maybe I am lucky?

And that blue looks amazing! Wish that was available when I bought mine!

    Yup, Supercharger = $4500 + installation = $6000
    Big Brake kit = $1750 + installation = Unknown
    Short Shifter = $550 + installation = Unknown

Covered under original warranty if installed at the dealer. Otherwise it's 12 months.

    All prices in CAD

Was tempted to do the SC but calmer heads prevailed. I'm old and don't need that funny feeling in my belly anymore......
