    they have "hooks" that hook on to the lower bumper grille...
    The bottom, you have to use 3M automotive tape to keep it in place.
    Here's one on a pre-runner (mine):

    And the other alternative would be to use vinyl sticker right? I think i see most guys black it out all the way to the very bottom of the bumper. Not just a little strip like that.

    the vinyl is an alternative. You can also just paint it.
    Unfortunately the XRunner piece only goes as far as the one i posted above,

    If you want the black to go all the way to the bottom of the bumper, than paint or vinyl is your best bet:cool:

    I had black vinyl installed on mine.. then added the XR bumper piece. Gave it an OEM look.

    I have one on my rear license plate... just like the one you have.

    I'm not a fan of having a license plate on the front bumper... only have it so the TX HWY Patrol don't hassle me...

    I've had it every where... lol
