XR Turbo kit

No it is not the STS. A buddy of mine who fabricates custom Turbo kits just bought a 2008 XR is going to fabricate a kit for our XRs. It will be a nice single turbo. Twins make the cost jump up. Not sure what the $$ will be but you can check around and see what most turbo kits cost. This is a feeler thread.

Don't think that would happen unless u leave him your truck and pay the $$$$. He just bought a X-Runner last week. He will be fabricating in a couple months. Just trying to see if any of these XR owners are ready to step up to the plate. I highly doubt they will but we will see. Balboa will be Turboed soon.

Just got off the phone with the fabricator and he is as excited as I am about this. Explained to him that in my opinion the X-1 needs to be included with this kit. He is all for the X-1. Also the turbo that he wants to use in the kit most likely will be the SC-61 http://www.240sxmotoring.com/t3tu50.html Also depending on clearances the kit might be able to be used in the FJ Cruiser and most likely without any problems in the Pre-Runner. Oh and one more side note. Balboas Super Charger is for sale!!!!!

This sounds awesome. I'm interested in learning about this but unfortunatly a purchase wouldn't been an option for me.

What kind of numbers can be expected from this setup or is it hard to say before it's done?

With built internals I would say 625-650 to the crank. That is with the boost cranked up. Of course you would not want to crank up the boost with stock internals.

I have spoken to Luis about this and Gadget at length especially Gadget and neither are interested in making a kit. And I will keep this thread alive with updates. I can tell ya this that the fabricator is looking at around Nov. 10th as start date and 2-3 weeks for completion. The first kit will be single turbo and will go on test truck. Then will be taken off and installed on my XR. Then a Twin turbo kit will be fabricated on test XR. Also the Pre runner and FJ Cruiser is on the list also.

Too bad our drivetrain can't handle that kind of power. Time to drop in a t56 tranny
