    Hey guys. i have a TRD Sport and am thinking about supercharging it. It has over 90k thousand miles though well taken care of. Do you think it is a good idea to supercharge the truck or too many miles and not worth the risk. Thanks.

    TRD s/c @ 9lbs, Unobtanium Welding 321SS Full Race Exhaust, B&M s/s, TRD 1st Gen CAI, sittin sic track ready drop, TSW Tanka's with 275/40/18's all the way around, 4300k hid's in headlights and fogs, with more to come
    should be fine as long as the truck has been well maintained

    I'd suggest a compression test first followed by a good injector cleaning.

    You may want to replace your O2 sensors if you haven't already. (get quality replacements) And or get yourself a good Air to Fuel Ratio guage! Like the Innovative wide band Air/fuel.(http://www.innovatemotorsports.com)
    The key to safe boosting is knowing that the engine is getting enough gas! If it's not and you get lean out that's when detonation can make your engine go kaput!!! The URD 7th injector kit is an extra added bit of insurance and performance too! I hope to have the funds to boost soon as well. GL!

    Defiantly go for it. But do the 7th injector kit and all your other maintenance too. It should be fine but it's still a lot of pressure and stress on the engine

    Second gens don't need to do the 7th injector

    I would also do a leak down test. It tells more than a simple cylinder compression test.

    About 132k now. My only documented issues so far have been user error related (ex: install of hi-flow fuel pump done incorrectly). I have been having some transmission gremlins lately that I am working out, and I am hoping that they are just a product of a vacuum leak, but I can't confirm that for sure yet.

    Just outa curiosity, how long did the install take you? Toyota just charged me for 18hrs on mine.

    Toyota should only have charged you for 8 hours... That's standard protocol for this install. I did it over the course of a couple days myself, so it probably took me about 15 hrs of work time. That's not with all the specific tools and I had never done something that involved before. I could do it in less than 10 if I were to do it again.
