This day in 1929, a legend was born. She was the loving mother who gave birth to my father and his siblings, the strong woman who became NOAA's first female yeoman purser, and also the merry soul who coined the famous Fenwick phrase "You're full of shit as a Christmas turkey." She loved her family and her cats, and loved people in general. She was a great woman. But she is no longer here with us, so in her honor, stop and take a shot of rum or bourbon.
