The plow is 82" wide, and yes when it is angled it clears a path wide enough for my truck to drive down. The plow works really well on my 4 cyl truck. I have a long drive down a steep hill and plow both up and down with no issues on stock tires. I do plan on up grading my tires when these ones are worn to increase my traction.
I also put on the rubber on top of the plow to stop the snow from coming over the top. I used a piece of old conveyor belt and bolted on top of the plow
