Product Description
The new Night-Tech line of bulbs from PIAA features several advancements in performance, durability, and manufacturing. Through the use of a unique mix of gasses including a higher proportion of inert gases as well as a new filament material these bulbs offer up to 90 per cent more light than a conventional bulb with a greater life span. The gases, filament material and coatings on the bulbs offer a color temperature in the 3600 Kelvin range for a whiter output than standard bulbs and retain a DOT/SAE approval. The unique dual band bulb coatings not only create a whiter light but a brighter, longer range (up to 35 meters) output when compared to other bulbs. The new gas mixture, filament material, as well as manufacturing processes such as using gold plated contacts gives high performance and great looks as well as extending the life span by up to 50 per cent.

The standard bulbs on my 2005 Honda Civic lit up a miniscule amount of roadway, for the interstates late at night with deer around, I needed something with more output for low and high beams.
After replacing the bulbs with the new PIAA Night tech bulbs, I noticed an unquestionable difference in how bright the bulbs were, the road is lit up on the sides much better and the distance is much farther than the previous bulbs.
The high beam 9006/ H4 bulb is by far my favorite bulb I have ever used - The visibility is increased to at around +/- 1/4 of a mile during the night, side visibility is amazing and I can now safely travel at higher speeds during the night and see any obstruction or animal with plenty of time to slow the car. Reflective markers and signs can be seen around 1 mile away so you can see where you are going well in advance.
I use the high beam religiously while driving, I use them any chance I get to leave them on more than 20 seconds, but with constant cycling off and on they have help up great for the 7-8 thousand miles and 6 months of continuous use. I even took trip about 5 hours away, the return trip with around 2am and the high beams ran for almost the entire trip back (at least 4 hours). In that time no wires have melted, not shorts, no loose contacts and they still are as bright as ever.
Buy these and you will not be disappointed!!!
So anyway, I put these PIAAb bulbs in and my son has now driven the car at night and he says they are much much brighter than before. So I ordered the fogs too which are H11 and will be putting those in soon. The alternative was to go aftermarket HID and while they are likely very bright - I had all kinds of concerns about doing that because it requires so much modification and then if my projectors weren't compatible I may blind people, etc.
I drove the car last night and I have to agree with my son. The lights are much brighter than the 9011 or the old 9005. They are not HID bright (my other car has HIDs) but they are significantly better. Once I get the fogs replaced with the H11 version of these bulbs, I am sure it will help even further. I know that people often frown on driving with fogs when it's not foggy, but on the Maxima the fogs are very low mounted on the bumper. Very low - maybe 12 inches off the ground (if that). There is no way those lights are going to blind anyone but they do help with the up close illumination whereas the low beam headlights are shooting further out. In fact there are articles which state fogs are helpful where you have a lot of deer (which we do). Here in Florida, we have a far bigger problem with people who drive with no lights on when it's raining or foggy - and that's a real problem ...
It's 10 year old car so I don't expect much - but safety is very important and dim headlights are simply unsafe. While we only drive at night rarely with this car, when we do, I will feel better knowing we can see. And since we don't drive this car much at night, the shorter lifespan of these bulbs shouldn't matter too much. I will trade shorter life span for the ability to see any time.
These are great light bulbs they provide great light at night. They'rrrrrrrre GREAT!!!! (Said like Tony the Tiger)
