I installed Godspeed Oil Catch Can on my Chevy Colorado in the hopes that I can avoid cleaning the throttle body. I consider this product a good value relative to catch cans that cost 5 times the price. I did make some inexpensive modifications to replicate their operation. Inside that catch can I added steel wool for the oil to have a place to condense. I also added a hose from the inlet side of the can into the steel wool so that the oil mist would not short circuit from the inlet to the outlet, since they are a short distance apart. Since I planned on mounting the catch can in a location that would make removing the drain plug very difficult, I purchased a Fumoto F-109N Engine Oil Drain Valve to make the draining process easier.
I deducted two stars for a couple of reasons.
The first reason: The mounting bracket. Installing the bracket on the can required that I purchase a couple of washers because the tapped holes in the can were not deep enough for the length of the screws. I could have purchased shorter screws instead. The simple "L" bracket design also did not provide much flexibility for mounting.
The second reason: When trying to determine the size of the drain plug, I contacted Godspeed. I spoke to two different gentlemen on the two calls I made. They could not tell me the fitting size, but promised a return call with the information I requested. I did not receive any returned phone calls. I ended up measuring the diameter and thread pitch myself. It was 12 mm diameter with a thread pitch of 1.5.
Summarizing, this catch can was a good value, but required some modifications.
