It mounts using the same 17mm ball socket swivel and is powered by a USB-C cable (included). Not only does it charge your phone using its 10W induction coil, it also has senses when your phone is in the mount and closes the side clamps automatically, firmly securing your phone in place. Finally, an LED indicates that your phone is in place and charging has begun.

At first I was a bit dubious about pulling the dash apart on my brand new 2023 Tacoma, but there was no need to worry at all. Installation took less than a 5 minutes from start to finish. The mount is minimalistic, but since it's bolted to the dash, the phone doesn't move at all. It does obscure some of the buttons on the radio, but I've already trained myself to just rotate the phone clockwise about 45° to be able to access those buttons, and quickly turn it back afterward. I've also noticed that while interacting with the power and volume buttons on the side of my phone, my knuckles will occasionally come into contact with the touch screen of the radio. This might be a huge problem for others, but it doesn't bother me at all. I wish they made a mount that would connect to the bolt on the right side of the radio to mount a forward facing dashboard camera. It is a bit pricey, but over the years I've spent more cumulatively on phone mounts that I ultimately didn't like or that broke or wore out after a period of time. I expect this mount will last as long as I on the truck.

Easy installation. Using IPhone 13 Pro Max, there’s too much movement so if you have double or triple Back Tap functions configured, it’s constantly activating those functions, which is quite annoying. A thicker bracket would have almost certainly solved this issue.
