So I have the 5 deposits. I'm going to give it through the weekend to potentially let others in on this. So please guys, if you know anyone who'd like a set of cam gears, get them in on this now.

I'll contact my manufacturer Monday and get an estimated timeline. I'm making 10 sets this go around unless I can get more than 10 deposits in by Monday (3Jun19).

Unless there's significant interest in the future, I'm not sure there will be another round. I'm not going to be able to turn out one or two sets as interest comes. So again, if you are on the fence, or know someone who might be interested. Get on board now.

 

If the cams are installed do i need to flash or tune the computer? If so who, how, cost? Recommendations? I have an 07 dcsb v-6 with manual

 

Nope. Works with the OEM ECU. Tuning can take advantage and optimize engine performance with them. HP Tuner, and JustDSM, or a few others in that thread can help with the tune.

As well as plenty of shops.

Question mark, is there a rough idea of how much power these combined with an hp tuner would add? Seriously debating picking up a set

 

That’s a difficult one to answer. A stock truck tuned will have less benefit from these gears over one with full N/A bolt-ons.

Fuel quality (octane) will also factor.

I wish I had a more concrete answer, but that’s my honest feedback from what I’ve learned so far.

 

You've had the chance to tune a few trucks that already had these correct?

 

Correct, all S/C trucks with 2.5” pulleys and the other supporting mods.

These trucks without question can get away with more aggressive timing strategies over similarly modded trucks that don’t have them.

I have not however tuned any N/A trucks with these installed yet.

I will have to think about this as well. I do not plan to SC my Tacoma until the engine gives out. This may be awhile, because the truck only has 170k on it so far. I do not beat on the truck too much and it gets an oil change every 5k like clockwork.
