"^Depends on the brand. With the AFE, you can tap it, vacuum it, or wash it. Each method gets it progressively cleaner, obviously. I know with the AEM Dryflow (had one on my Altima), you use a cleaning kit."

"A very common experience for many (most?) people. I can't prove it but I believe the K&N I had on the CAI in my '05 Altima caused a MAF failure. That was the last straw for K&N for me. Get an AEM Dryflow."
