hello, i shorted out the power supply to my radio today, and for the life of me i can't find the fuse for it. i know there is a fuse block on the drivers side above the left foot, and on the panel you take off, where it shows the fuse diagram, there is a 30 amp fuse shown on it, separate from the rest, but i can't find it anywhere. i am wondering if the previous owner relocated it during an alarm install or something?

can someone snap a pic of where it is supposed to be located? or provide a more detailed description?

    thanks

it is possible that model years are different for 1st gen, here is what i am talking about

you can see that i have marked the fuse i am looking for
    [IMG]

whereas that fuse is not present in the fuse block

the only 30a fuse in the engine fuse block is am2, which disables a ton more stuff when i unplug it.

the 7.5a fuse marked radio seems to be what provides the acc power when the ignition key is turned, i am looking for the fuse that provides power to the clock, and wiring harness for constant 12v

For a 97 Tacoma, the power comes from both the 7.5 amp radio fuse, and the 15 amp dome fuse. I have never seen a radio powered off a 30 amp fuse before, especially on a 97. My 97 runs off the radio fuse and the dome fuse.

thanks bamatoy, that was right on the money. i looked at the interior fuse panel, and it looks like there isn't even enough room to put an extra fuse box between the existing one, and the ducting for the drivers side vent
