Some of us want auto locking doors. This is my solution.

Locking the passenger door with the key provides a ground to a Body ECU wire, which actuates the door locks.

    ******* Tutorial *******
    Disconnect the battery

Remove the glove box and passenger kick panel.
Behind the glove box is a junction block (J/B) with six connectors plugged in, connector PB is the second from the bottom with 18 wire pin spots.
Behind the kick panel there are connectors joining the wires from the door harness to the body main harness, IK3 is one of these with 10 wire pin spots.

Refer to this picture and wire in a SPST relay.
    Lock on Start.GIF

    Start 12v
    Manual: PB pin 9
    Auto V6: PD pin 3
    Auto 4cyl: PA pin 11

    SPST Relay
    Pin 87 - IK3 pin 10
    Pin 86 - IK3 pin 10
    Pin 85 - Start 12v
    Pin 30 - IK3 pin 5

    Finished
    :hattip:

    Note:
We're basically tricking the Body ECU into thinking we're locking the door from the outside- it has logic built into it, so:
    1. If any door is open during starting they will immediately unlock after locking.
    2. If the driver's seatbelt is buckled during starting the Body ECU will not activate the locks.

I'm going to make a plug-n-play harness for this one, with a pin to insert into Start 12v connector

I suppose locked doors while driving may have some advantages... in bad neighborhoods for instance, but it's not for me. The door lock mechanism is easily damaged and can jam during an accident, locking you and yours inside the vehicle.

I have manual door locks. I just reach over and lock the doors.

2nd gens are better, change my mind.
@05Taco4x4 any update? I would rather buy a PnP harness from you before I start messing with my ECU wires.
