I will say it is a beautiful area of the state and the views coming down the trail on your way to Apache lake are pretty incredible. With the massive influx of people that have taken up off roading and the mind numbing amount of people on side by sides it's pretty dangerous when you mix the bad drivers of both aforementioned groups. Sprinkle in a couple of old folks, an RV, a few fifth wheels and then a Mustang trying to pass the bass fisherman hauling his boat up the damn thing and it's all just a hot mess. Let the wilderness have an untouched portion where we can't get to it for our IG photos. You can still get to Apache Lake Marina, it just takes longer and makes it that much more worth it when you aren't on an overcrowded lake.

I think this holds true for all F.R. and OHV trails. The SxS and douchebag culture has ruined it for the lot of people that genuinely care to protect the environment and leave it how they found it.

Unfortunately road closures just remove the ability for the latter to visit areas that they want, meanwhile the former will just end up trashing other places, accordingly.

Made it to Phoenix. Longest trip ever. Took 28 hours straight through. I stopped for a rest in Wells, NV, but otherwise just kept driving. I'm getting old.

    problems for sure.

I would rather see reasonable regulations and speed limits enforced than everyone miss out

    I hate those things.

they are a legitimate menace to society.

and they are going to get everything closed down for everyone

I find it’s becoming more difficult to locate midget stripper gifs appropriate for public offerings. What is happening to this world?! Who doesn’t love midgets and strippers let alone midget strippers!

After reading further on the ADOT site this is only for the road from Apache lake to the overlook BEFORE the fish creek decent. The road was closed years ago after fish creek. More recently (3 Years?) the road going down the scary hill to fish creek was closed. I don't believe that there are any discussions opening it up any further than the overlook. This is sad, glad I ran it a few times in the 70's and 80's.
