Run one hot from the switch which is 12v, run a separate ground per light. If you hook it to a painted surface it might not be good continuity.

To install a relay which you should have in any properly installed fog light system the relay is basically a switch that is flipped on and off by electricity ( well sort of but that's a simple way to think about it) you can get a standard 30 amp Bosch relay at any auto parts store or car audio shop for a few bucks wire it in so that when you flip the switch on the dash instead of powering the lights directly it is telling the relay to send power to the lights which is supplied to the relay straight from the battery. I'm sorry this is a little hard to follow I've had a few drinks if you havent used relays much let me know I can send you a wire diagram to make it simple. There should be a relay in any fog light system but I'm not saying you did anything wrong as most manufacturers still do t use them for some reason Piaa and a few other high end light companies are the only ones I've seen include one. But it will make sure you have enough current getting to your lights without running the risk of overloading the switch which wasn't designed to handle that much especially for a long period of time.

    I looked up your lights.
At 55W I would also say you need a relay for them and a then check all your connections (good metal to metal contact, not paint). These lights are also a yellow light (about 3000K), so they may seem not bright when working properly. Should be almost the same as stock bulb low beams.

You are drawing a little over 9 amps with both lights so with small gauge wire and a small switch it's probably maxing every thing out. The relay drawing is how you want to do it the relay is handling the power not the switch often the fog light kits skimp on wire gauge so that is a factor also. Some one mentioned grounds both lights should be grounded with their own wire not tied together. The white wire goes to some thing powered it draws very little current all it does is turn the relay on.

Yeah you could do that but you would have to remember to turn the switch off if you run them during the day. I connected my white wire to a fuse that was only live when the engine is running. Turn off key = turning off fogs. No dead battery.

You're welcome. Actually connect the yellow and white directly to battery positive. I should have clarified that. Sorry.

    Relay should go to +
    Neg should go to -
Switched power goes to something like the parking light +

The lighting and wiring section has some good hints that helped me.
