My Radio reception NG - I think the antenna isn't hooked up for some reason - reception would be intermittent for some time now its very weak and static. Any links and advise appreciated - links for how to's and or videos would be great. Thanks.

Well for basic starting points I'd consider the following ...

If you can get your hand up under the dash - be sure the antenna lead is firmly inserted into the radio.

Check your mast and make sure it is not loose.

IF you have access to the radio antenna end - buy or borrow an old antenna and plug that in. Ground the antenna lug to the frame. See if it's the antenna/connection.

All very logical - wonder if there are any visual direction to do this ? That would be nice.

I've got a question reference grounding that antenna. I had a shop install an aftermarket radio/nav, as well as fix my broken antenna.

Now, a couple of years later, I heard a vibrating metallic clunking coming from the fender antenna area. Since i was updating the suspension, l also checked the area. Repair shop had broken off multiple fender clips.

Since I was already going to have to replace the clips, decided to check out the antenna mount inside of the fender. Sure enough, the screw holding the antenna shaft was loose.

The screw holds the internal shaft to a metal bracket which is attached to the truck's body. Is this for grounding? I ask since I want to put some Loctite on the screw threads to keep it from vibrating loose again. That might insulate the screw and therefore the antenna shaft.

If you tighten it up real good it should not loosen. Why cause another possible problem. Be sure it's properly seated and ground areas not all corroded.

It appears to have loosened up at least once

You are most welcome to fix it any way you feel is best. But I've not heard of a rash of loose antenna's on the Tacos.

It wouldn't be very apparent, as the assembly is pretty buried under the fender and well. Just bad reception and perhaps that tinny rattling I heard occasionally. .

That said, I just tightened the bolt well, replaced the clips the repair shop neglected to replace, and am going to wait. Pretty sure the HiFi shop wasn't as conscientious as they could have been, which is why it had to be addressed twice.

    Demoras Demasiado !!!!

Seriously, thanks for the extra effort. This will be handy on some other grounding points i was worried about. Hopefully, i won't have to go back behid that fender. Those fender well clips are expensive. I haven't managed to perfect s procedure to remove them without totally sacrificing them.
