2.5" is that the measurement of the thread that showing above the crown of the coilovers?

 

Shock diameter. It's how big the piston is inside.

 

Ok I'm new to this thing... How far I can adjust my coilovers? Right now My set is 1.2" im talking about the thread above the crown that showing. I'm running nitro trail grappler mud train. And it's still rubb a little. I want to adjust the coilovers to the point that I still have the best performance of the shocks. I don't want to be stiff ride

Lift won't really get rid of the rubbing. You need to trim fenders or just deal with it. Max lift over stock I think is 3". It's measured at the hub and fender fyi.

They are pretty easy man. I don't even think you need a spring compressor or maybe just a slight clamp on it.

 

I think i need heavy duty spring.

 

This is mine and id already prefer less preload (less thread showing)



I have a 4" spindle which provides the lift. The preload on rhe coiliver just makes up for the sag i get from the weight of my plate bumper and winch. My plan is to up the spring size and rate to reduce preload. Icon comes with 13" 650# spring. Ill put a 14" 700# spring with no threads showing and have the same lift. With stock front bumper you could run a 14" 600# or 650# and lower your preload for a better ride to avoid jacking up the suspension higher.

But what was already said is true... more lift wont fix your rubbing. You have your caster adjusted forward/backward to help move the wheel away from the problem spot but at the end of the day you'll still need to just trim a bit

 

Do it. The fight is pretty mellow. You will most likely need to rent some spring compressor for the larger springs

 

Yup the 13 inch spring you can almost get off without compressors. The 14/700 I put on requires a lot of compression. Goodyear shop down the street did mine for 50 bucks. I took the coilovers to them though.

 

Any tips for running wiring for some back lights? Looking at mounting to the bed rail.

 

What kind of back light?

 

Gonna run a couple of our pods right under the rear window.

Edit: little 3x3 cubes, i want to have them on a switch though not tapped into reverse lights.

 

^you could go right thru the cab metal in back there,not recommended.
Or there is the rubber grommet Under your driver side and passenger chair in the front you can go through and then wire your own switch In. if that is what you meant or asking

 

Definitely would rather not drill into anything, besides the bed rail lol.

No the size of the diameter of the shock. I went with a larger diameter. More fluid.
