JM Custom kydex makes a 25-degree cant IWB - just the ticket for full-size pistols and concealed carry. It's my next holster purchase:

Sounds like all the people online saying all 556 is armor penetrating, not just M855, created unintended consequences

    1. It has to be in your checked bag in the original manufacturers box or magazine. Inform them at the counter when you check your bag.

    2. If you have a firearm it has to be in a hard case (Pelican type) with locks at both corners (I went with 3 locks). Ammo in original boxes can be in the case, in OEM boxes, mags can't be loaded in this scenario. Inform them you have firearms at the counter, they will ask you to open it to inspect then sign a card and the card placed in with the guns, case closed, locked and tagged.

Thats it, pretty simple. PM me if you have any questions, I just did this 3 weeks ago with no problems.

Also go to your airlines website and look up firearm transportation and look at their particular guidelines, they are all pretty similar with small variations and print out their guidelines and highlight the pertinent info and carry it with you.

I assume you keep the key and TSA has no way to open the rifle case once you've closed and locked it?

Here is a link to TSA. http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/firearms-and-ammunition

    This is the first part
I read, that having a "locked container completely secured from access" as a lock the TSA can't open.

If I recall, last time I flew with a gun I used a lock I only had access to. I Had to open it for them to inspect.

Best piece of advise. Read up on TSA's rules and have them available. Last thing you want is a TSA Agent telling you wrong information.

By law you can not lock it with a lock TSA can open. You also cannot be compelled to give them the key so they can open it out of your presence.

I figured it'd be the case.. I'd really never want anybody with access to a gun case once I've locked it and walked away to get on my flight. Inspection makes total sense, I don't think I'd fly with a firearm if the TSA had freedom to it during my flight.

    What's up, folks?

I've been doing a lot of reading up and am trying to decide what to get for my next concealed carry. I flip guns like hotcakes and I just sold my most recent carry pistol last week, so it's time to re-up.

I'm trying to decide between 2 I've never owned before, so I figured I'd see what opinions the TW community had. I'm trying to decide between the Glock 42 (.380) and the Springfield XDS (probably the 9mm, but not completely ruling out the .45…I'll probably get whichever I can find cheaper). I've read nothing but good things about both guns and have owned both Glocks and XD's, but never one of the two above-mentioned.

Here's a short list of the carry pistols I've been through already:

    Ruger LCP
    Taurus TCP
    Springfield XD .40
    Glock 26
    Glock 27
    Keltec PF-9
    Diamondback .380

I've liked most of them, but I love buying and selling guns and both the Glock 42 and XDS are expensive, so I figured I'd get some opinions on each from some folks.

Consider trying a Kahr P9. They are reliable, light weight, and the single stack design makes it very comfortable to carry.
