So the big question.. It's time for new uca's and I'm debating between LR or camburg. I want to stick with a balljoint. I've heard good and bad about LR. I still want to be able tottake my truck to a shop to get it aligned as I have know idea what I'm doing when it comes to that. I understand that the LR'S have adjustments on the arm.. Will that throw a shop off? Anything I need to be weary of? I'm leaning towards the LR's since they're only 375 shipped from headstrong right now.. But camburg is camburg. I need opinions here

And a tech would see camburgs and not think twice about doing alignment then?

I bought a set of LRs from headstrong a couple weeks back since it was within my budget and they work a treat, I couldn't be anymore happier. Fixed my alignment, no more steering wheel shakes, and no more road wondering. I agree with the adjustment tabs being a bit confusing, so I took it to a local shop that was recommended on the forum since he was experienced with assembling and adjusting the LRs

I appreciate the info everyone. How is the install? Fairly easy with basic tools? The LR'S come with the ball joints pressed in already?

Ball joints were already installed. You would need to just press in the rubber bushings in and then your ready for the install.

When I installed my LR UCAs, I bought 2 new pivot bolts from Wheelers. Cut the head of the old ones and slid them out backwards. Installed the new bolts in the opposite direction as the originals. I think that was much easier than trying to work the original bolt out. The install was easy to me but I've done a lot of suspensions.

    How much were the bolts?

$30, I think. The LR arms were a little intimidating at first, but once I read how to set the tab, they are actually pretty simple. I am very pleased with them. My alignment numbers were easily attained. I've 0 toe, .001 camber, and 3.0 caster. Drives like a champ. Got mine at Headstrong, along with lots of other stuff.

How do you come up with these numbers?

Those numbers are ideal specs for our trucks

    0* toe
    0* camber
    2.4-3.0* Caster

Yeah, I asked the alignment guy to shoot for 0,0, and 3. He said it was no problem getting the numbers that I wanted. He was quite impressed with the UCAs.

Oh yeah, you should tell the alignment guy the numbers that YOU want...if not he will set them to factory specs and it will not drive as well. Lifted Toyotas need different numbers than non-lifted. 2-3 of lift works very well with 0,0, and 3.

Ah I see that makes sense now. So is the real difference just the name behind the product mostly? Do the camburgs perform better off road?

I have Camburg UCAs with moog balljoints. Its was a toss up between LR and Camburg and I went with the Camburgs strictly for looks. They have been great.

Toytec Coilovers, Total Chaos uca's, Wheelers aal+Bilstein 5160's. 285/70/17's, Method Double Standards. Magnaflow exhaust, GrilleCraft grille, Allpro bumper, diff breather relocate, yellow wire mod, oil catch can, weathertechs.
I used to have LR uca's. The bushings started tearing, which was a downfall of LR. I think they may have updated the bushings now. I decided to go uniball and spent the $$ and got Total Chaos uca's and couldn't be happier. I prefer uniball style over ball joint.

Yeah, supposedly LR worked out the bushing issue that plagued the early models.

    Yes sir
I just ordered a set of LR UCA's, just want to make sure I'm reading this correctly haha, I'll be installing an OME 3" along with the UCA's so when I bring it in to get it aligned, 0,0, and 3 will work best?
