    does he have a favorite team he's rooting for in the iditarod this year? just noticed jessie royer is in fifth place, she's the only MT musher running this year.

    Yes, thanks. We had a guy shovel off the roof and put calcium chloride in the ice dams. The leak stopped within 15 minutes. He said there was at least 10 tons of snow and ice on the roof, and it rained later on that day. I guess the house is stout enough. This is the front yard after the roof was cleared.

    I drove up into central Mass this morning, sow a few snowflakes in the air. We still have over 2 feet of snow in places that don't get any direct sun, a few patches of bare ground here and there. Ides of March today, beware!

    :eek: dats a lot! Do you think those heated coils you install along the eaves would help clear things off next winter? That or youll have to bribe one of the neighbor kids to do the shoveling more frequently

    I'm not sure, the heating coils should help with the ice dams, but this is the most snow over a season here since they started keeping records. Hopefully there will not be any reason to shovel the roof next year.:cool:

    that was going to be my next comment...is it even worth worrying about?! :laugh: you guys got all of your normal snowfall and I think ours too. bone dry out here. they say the mountains are at a normal snowpack level but everything in the valleys is already snow free and greening up
