Looks good. But I'm an amature so not like my opinion holds any weight.

Ran thru the last of the 2lb spool that came with my eastwood 250 today welding some.braces on an old cattle gate. Laid a few inches of bad beads and couldnt get anything goin to start, just thoughy it was cuz i was welding some dirty stuff or maybe cuz the gate was 1/8 and the brace was 3/16". i started at what i thought was the recommended setting for 1/8" so i was gonna turn up to 3/16" and when i check the chart i noticed i had it set for the 110v not the 220v. Thimgs went much smoother the rest of the job ha.

That's funny you should mention wire. I just finished up a 44 pounder that was absolutely shit! I was honestly thinking that my skills were fading. New roll of wire and it was majical. That will be the last time I buy wire over the internet.must have been some serious impurities.

Are you confident in the structural integrity of that weld? Looks like there's a little mis-alignment...

    Did you sleeve that?

We'll see how it holds up under load but if any of my other projects are a testament to the strength of my welds then I think it'll be fine... So far norther the bumper or sliders have even flexed and there both taken some serious beatings. But in terms of balance, also not too worried about it, is the front shaft so it only spins in 4wheel and that'll only really be used at low speeds... It is sleeved so hopefully that helped with the alignment. In the end, it was more of a "we've got the parts, let's try it" type project just to get the thing on the road, if it doesn't hold, we'll replace it with a new one...

Also, I didn't do the actual welds but I helped when we cut 3 inches outa the rear shaft, and after seeing the truck go down the road yesterday that made me much more confident for the front one.. The rear seems to be completely balanced, now to see if it can handle the stress of a mud hole

It'll be more than just drive shaft to replace if it goes........just sayin.

If it goes it'll proba be in a low speed high torque situation, so ya it might ding some things up but shouldn't cause any serious damage... And anyway, it's a toy, things are gonna break

I'd throw a drive shaft hoop in there. Looks out of balance for sure.. carry an extra joint and tools to replace it on your test drive.

So the boss man tasked me with finding a new mig welder with alum capabilities for a new job coming up. material will be 1/4" not sure the alloy but assume 6061. I know nothing of mig alum other then you need a spool gun or push pull, only know about tig. Anyone have any suggestions on machines/guns?
